A charming 19th century drainer dish and bowl with a single, slightly larger aperture in the middle - apparently ideal for washing small salad leaves. Perfect as a soap dish, this early transferware has fruit and architectural detailing, plus garlands of leaves. Lovely fluting detail on the bowl and drainer dish. The set is hand finished in a pretty russet tone which complements the fruit border etc. The base colour is a creamy white china.
Dimensions: bowl - height 7cm, diameter at rim 19cm. drainer dish - diameter at edge 16.75cm, aperture in centre approx. 3cm, and regular additional drainage holes around each quarter. Rd no. 59451 and 89543 - both hand painted numbers on both pieces.
