This lovely hand painted jug from Hartley Pottery carries the artist's mark on the base and is one of a range made c1950's - the Hartrox range - decorated stoneware produced by Hartleys (Castleford) Ltd in West Yorkshire, between 1953-1960.
In 1953, Hartleys introduced a range of colourful, hand-painted "art" products under the Hartrox brand, some Hartrox pieces, including jugs like this one, were part of the "Individual Pottery" line and occasionally carried an artist's mark.
